LOVE: The Graduate

I watched this movie in its entirety for the first time the other night, and I have to say that I am SO disappointed by the selection of images from the movie that are available. The outfits, make up, hair, decor EVERYTHING that makes any movie, let alone this movie, beautiful and interesting are so grossly understated in the images furnished by Google. Gravely disappointed, Google.

My recommendation- -watch this film and burn it all in your memory.

Things that inspire me/LOVE: A Single Man

I fancy myself a bit of a "movie person." Not in the "Film Student" kind of way where one might make others' enthusiasm for movies seem trivial because they haven't seen a really profound silent film from the 30's....but in a way that I like to look at things that are beautiful. Ironically, I don't own a television (by accident, at first, but now it's on purpose), and I frequently play movies on my laptop computer while I work, clean or otherwise carry on at my apartment. It's good company while you're working at your house, and/or it's a nice treat at the end of a long day.

Given my enthusiasm for fashion- -I'm a bit amazed that it's taken me so long to see a movie directed and co-written by Tom Ford, but I'm glad that I took the time to see "A Single Man" this weekend. Not only was the storyline beautiful, but every detail of every shot of this movie was just impeccably thought out, executed, etc. etc. etc. I haven't seen a movie this beautiful in a long time, maybe ever.

Things that Inspire Me: COLORS!

I realize it sounds uber simpleton to say that you are "inspired by colors" but I think sometimes we take them for granted. I migrated to the Pacific Northwest for the past several years where it is variations of gray, brown and green for most of the year- -when I see unexpected pops of color in my day-to-day, I find myself more observant and appreciative than I've ever been. Especially now that it's spring and the daffodils and crocuses are furnishing beautiful purples and yellows on landscapes that are otherwise void of color.

I'm not a Goth gal, by any stretch of the imagination- -but this makes me want to go buy some Anna Sui lipstick. STAT! Nicely done!
