The one great thing about the house has been the absolute free rein for the wacky style choices that delight me so. There have been a few style blogs that have essentially been biblical to me with how I've been inspired to design certain aspects of the house. Most of the images below come either from Design Sponge or Apartment Therapy- -both are amazing.
As I'm sure you'll notice, I have a thing for weird art and loud colors. I will never be dubbed a "beige person." In fact, I revere"beige" as a four-letter word. When I see a house that is all whites and beiges it's difficult for me not to deduce that the person is either unimaginative, too lazy to invest in the task of painting, or wholly non-committal/indecisive, or lives with someone whose tastes differ too much from their own and they've essentially compromised at leaving the house a blank slate. I'm sure something could be said about my own aesthetic which resides on the other end of that spectrum, but to each their own. Thankfully my partner-in-crime has the same insane taste. Our house promises to be fun, at the very least.
This is the color of my new guest bedroom
We have a speakeasy-inspired lounge in the basement that is reminiscent of this
I love this idea! It'd be perfect for people like Nial who lose their keys like it's going out of style
I'm OBSESSED with Crestview Doors
This is happening in the new house- -all ready in the works. It's too awesome not to mimic
This orange is color of my kitchen. It's called "Atomic Orange" which is cool and ironic because the color of the guest bedroom is "Atomic Tangerine"
Something similar to this is happening with my upstairs bathroom, only they'll be stock Conde Nast images
For those of you with dogs, you KNOW how much room they take up in your bedroom. I love this idea.
Super sexy rug
