I first "discovered" (i.e. realized she existed) when I "discovered" The Sartorialist while perusing Style.com. (Jesus! It's like the fashion "7 Degrees of Kevin Bacon!") I don't find her to be a great beauty, but she possesses that innate quality that all European women seem to have, and that all American women seem to covet and try to emulate. It's an intangible air of confidence and sophistication. I mean, if Marlboro wanted to increase sales- -put THESE photos on a billboard. I'd willingly forego lung capacity if I looked like her when I did it- -sad, but true! In all of the photos of Giovanna, she looks busy, important, and effortlessly stylish. Each photo makes me wonder, "who is she emailing or talking to?" "where is she going?" "what is she thinking about?" To me, she's a beautiful, intriguing creature to be studied. Some of you are probably wondering, "WHO is she though?" Well, what do you think? Look at her. She's a former D&G model, she's a stylist, and she's the fashion editor at L'Uomo Vogue. Here is my favorite image of her. I have an inspiration board at my house, and I frequently swap the photos around. This has been the only photo that has remained consistent through all the shuffle.
